Workings of a Handheld Ultrasonic Flow Meter: Using the Time-Transit Measurement Principle, one flow meter transducer transmits a signal that travels through the medium, the opposite side of the pipe wall, and is then received by another flow meter transducer. The signal that the first transducer received is also transmitted concurrently by the second transducer. After taking into account the time difference and the influence of the medium flow rate, the flow value Q may be calculated.
